AI Marketing Agent: Research, Create, and Improve Your Ads in One Place
Playad's AI marketing agent researches competitors, builds image and video ads, and reviews creative performance—all from one Chat interface.
Trusted by 6,000+ marketers & founders
Playad's Chat acts as your AI marketing agent. From a single conversation, you can ask it to research competitors, plan campaigns, generate image or video ads, and review how live creatives are performing. Every task runs in the context of your selected team and brand, and you stay in control of each approval step along the way.
What you can do
Competitor and Market Research
In Chat, select a task such as Research to ask for competitor ad analysis or market trends. An ad account connection may be needed for tasks that use live advertising data.
Image and Video Ad Creation
Describe your product, audience, message, and placement. Chat proposes a flow you can review in the Flow Preview before continuing to the Flow Editor or Projects.
Inspiration-Led Ad Cloning
In Inspiration, browse Explore or Following to find a reference ad, save it, then use Clone to open Chat with that reference as a starting point for a brand-matched version.
Creative Performance Review
Creative Performance shows creatives from connected ad accounts with status labels such as Winner, Fatigued, or Testing. Open a creative's detail, then ask Chat for a revision based on what you see.
Adjustable Thinking and Approval Modes
Set the Thinking mode (Instant to Comprehensive) to match task complexity. Set the action-approval mode to Ask, Auto, or Autopilot to control how much the agent confirms before acting.
How it works
1. Select Your Team and Brand, Then Open Chat
Choose the correct team and brand from the sidebar, then select New Chat. All research, creation, and analysis tasks run in the context of this selection.
2. Describe the Task You Want the Agent to Handle
Type a specific request—competitor research, a campaign plan, or an image or video ad brief. Include the goal, audience, format, and any product images or references. Use the Research, Analyze, Create, or Launch suggested tasks on the new-chat screen to start from a prepared prompt.
3. Review the Flow Before Continuing
When Chat proposes a flow, open the flow card and check the Flow Preview. Adjust the concept in the conversation before committing to generation. Creating a flow is not the same as completing generation.
4. Approve or Adjust Agent Actions
Use the action-approval control in the composer to decide whether the agent asks permission for each step, auto-approves routine actions, or works more independently. Review any permission request that appears.
5. Find Outputs in Creations and Projects
Generated media appears in the original conversation and in Creations for the same brand. Open Projects to reopen editable work in the Flow Editor on desktop.
6. Connect Ad Accounts for Performance Tasks
Go to Connections to link an ad account and sync its data. Once synced, Creative Performance shows live creatives with status and analysis labels you can reference when asking Chat for changes.
Using Playad: product screens
Example request
Research the top competitors running video ads in my category, then create three square image ad concepts for first-time buyers using the attached product photo and highlighting our introductory offer.
Hypothetical Example: Launching a New Product Ad
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
Input: A marketer types 'Research the top three competitors running video ads for running shoes, then create two 15-second video ad concepts for first-time buyers highlighting free returns.' They attach a product photo and set Thinking to Standard.
Review: Chat returns a competitor summary with ad descriptions from Following, then proposes two video flows. The marketer opens each Flow Preview, asks Chat to shorten the second concept's opening scene, approves the revision, and saves both to Projects for editing in Flow Editor. This scenario is hypothetical and does not represent a real user result.
Before you start
Google video ad cloning is not supported by the Clone action in Inspiration.
Creative Performance requires a connected ad account and synced advertising data; a file in Creations does not automatically appear in that view.
Tasks that use live advertising data require an ad account connection via Connections.
Autopilot and Auto-approve modes still surface permission requests for steps that require your input; spending-related permissions can also depend on account limits.
Competitor following in Inspiration may be limited by your plan's maximum number of followed advertisers.
Chat-based brand website analysis and PDF-based brand updates run separately on the Brand page and in the background; check Brand for their results.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I start if I want the AI agent to build an ad for me?
Select your team and brand, then choose New Chat in the sidebar. Describe the ad type, product, audience, message, and placement. Chat will propose a flow you can review before generation begins.
Can the agent use a competitor ad as a reference?
Yes. In Inspiration, browse Explore or Following, save a reference ad to Inspired, then use Clone to open Chat with that reference. The agent uses it to guide style, layout, or scene structure for your brand's version.
How does the agent know how a live ad is performing?
Connect your ad account via Connections and allow a sync to complete. Creative Performance then shows those creatives with status labels such as Winner, Fatigued, or Testing. You can open a creative's detail and ask Chat to suggest a revision.
What is the difference between Thinking modes and approval modes?
Thinking modes (Instant through Comprehensive) control how much planning the agent applies to a task. Approval modes (Ask, Auto, Autopilot) control whether the agent asks your permission before taking creative and ad setup actions. They are set separately in the composer.
Where do I find the ads the agent generated?
Generated media appears in the original Chat conversation and in Creations for the same brand. If an editable project was created, open Projects to continue editing it in the Flow Editor on desktop.
Can I ask the agent a question about Playad without requesting ad creation?
Yes. Ask a specific how-to question in Chat, such as 'How do I connect an ad account?' The agent can search Playad documentation and link to guide pages. If the answer does not resolve your question, use Support in the sidebar.
