Your first advertising review should help answer a business question: what happened, what information is missing and what should you investigate next? Playad's Ad Monitor brings available performance data from connected accounts into Live Overview for the selected brand. Start with reporting dates and freshness, then inspect spend, recorded results and the relevant campaign details. Ask Chat a focused follow-up using that context. Ad reporting software for small business is useful when it makes the next decision clearer. A dashboard cannot establish that tracking is complete, explain every difference between platforms or decide whether an offer is profitable without the relevant business information.

What you can do

Read available results in one brand context

Open Ad Monitor after connecting the relevant account and syncing its data. Live Overview organizes headline metrics, platform summaries and campaign insights. Spend, conversions and ROAS appear when the connected data supports them. Choose the period you intend to review and check platform freshness before drawing conclusions. A missing metric is not evidence of zero results. Begin by understanding which account, period and measurements the dashboard actually represents, especially when your first campaign has little activity.

Investigate the detail behind an overview

When an insight includes a clickable entity, open its detail panel to inspect the campaign, ad group or ad and its related items. Use Creative Performance to find creatives from connected ads and inspect their usage and available analysis. Labels such as Winner, Fatigued or Testing can help navigate those views; check the underlying period and delivery context before making a change. A label or headline ratio is a starting point for investigation, not a replacement for the business question.

Build a review you can return to

Use Chat to ask a narrow question about the results or data gap you have identified. For recurring work, describe a performance review in Scheduler, including when it should run and the timezone. Complete setup in Chat and confirm the saved, enabled task and its next run in Scheduler. Review the resulting conversation when it is available. This supports a repeatable review process without implying that every digest is sent by email or that reporting automatically changes campaign budgets.

How it works

1. Confirm the account and initial sync

Select the intended team and brand, then inspect Connections. Confirm the provider, selected account, authorization state and historical range chosen for Start Initial Sync. Complete the daily sync setup when prompted. Account authorization and data availability are separate facts. If the review concerns a campaign from before the selected sync range, an otherwise healthy connection may still leave you without the period you need. Fix the data question before judging the ad.

2. Choose the period before reading the outcome

Open Ad Monitor and set the reporting dates and comparison controls for the question you want to answer. Check freshness for the platforms involved. Compare spend, result volume and efficiency over matching dates rather than mixing a recent spend figure with a result from a different period. When comparing platforms, check what each result means instead of assuming that every conversion definition or reporting window is identical.

3. Separate a tracking question from a performance question

If spend is present but a result metric is missing, first ask whether the measurement and data needed for that result are available. If a campaign is absent from the Campaigns list, check its current state: that section includes campaigns running now. Paused, finished or removed campaigns can be absent there even when their results are included in headline metrics and platform cards. The list and totals therefore answer different questions.

4. Inspect the campaign or creative you are discussing

Open an available entity detail from an insight to investigate its context and related items. For a creative question, open Creative Performance and inspect the creative and its connected ads. Clear filters if the expected item is missing, and confirm the brand. A generated file in Creations does not prove the file ran in advertising. Ask Chat about the specific result or gap you have inspected, rather than asking it to explain a disconnected screenshot or an unspecified campaign.

5. Write the next decision and review cadence

Choose the next question: verify measurement, investigate a campaign, revise a message or continue collecting relevant information. Record the reasoning in the conversation. If a recurring summary would be useful, request it in Scheduler and finish setup in Chat, then verify the enabled task and next run. Specify what the summary should explain and which dates it should cover. A routine is helpful when you can return to the same business question and see whether the evidence changed.

Using Playad: product screens

Start with dates and freshness before interpreting spend and recorded results. Actual Playad UI rendered with sample data; not a customer result.

Example request

Help me review the available results for this brand over the selected period. Separate missing data from zero results, explain which campaigns contributed to spend, and list the measurement or creative questions I should check before changing anything.

Example: an owner sees spend but an incomplete picture

Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result

Hypothetical observation: a small service business sees advertising spend for its selected week, but the expected enquiry metric is unavailable. The owner also cannot find a campaign that they remember pausing.

Diagnosis: they confirm the account, sync range and reporting dates. They check measurement availability instead of calling the missing metric zero, and recognize that the Campaigns list shows currently running campaigns while totals can include paused activity.

Follow-up: they ask Chat to explain the available period and identify the unresolved measurement questions. They decide what needs checking before changing the ad or its budget.

This example contains no invented customer results. It demonstrates a review method and does not establish why any real campaign performed as it did.

Before you start

Results depend on account access, sync coverage, freshness and platform data. Check those conditions before interpreting the dashboard.

Platform-reported performance does not by itself establish causal lift or company profitability. Supply relevant business context when deciding what results mean.

The Campaigns list shows currently running campaigns. Headline and platform totals can include activity from campaigns no longer shown in that list.

Scheduled work needs a saved, enabled task and the required data. Review its run history or conversation when a result is missing; do not assume that opening a scheduling request activated it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the dashboard empty after connecting an account?

Check whether initial sync has finished, whether the reporting dates overlap the synced range and whether the account has relevant activity. Also confirm the brand and account. A connection authorizes access; it does not mean every historical row is already available.

Why do campaign totals include a campaign I cannot see?

Ad Monitor's Campaigns section lists campaigns running now. Paused, finished or removed campaigns can be excluded from that list while their activity still contributes to headline metrics and platform cards for the selected dates. Check campaign state before treating the difference as a reporting error.

Can I ask for a recurring advertising review?

Yes. Describe the work, timing, timezone and repetition in Scheduler, finish the setup in Chat, then verify the saved task and next run. The task needs relevant account data, and its resulting conversation should be reviewed before acting on any recommendation.

Will reporting automatically tell me which ad to scale?

Reporting provides available metrics, insights and creative context that help frame the decision. Check dates, measurement definitions, delivery and your business constraints before interpreting a label or ratio. A recommendation is separate from an authorized campaign change and does not guarantee a business result.

“We went from 20 hours a week making ads to one, and our ROAS still climbed from 1.5 to 2.34. Playad just does the work better than we did.”
