Marketing Task Automation: Schedule Recurring Work for Your Brand
Automate recurring marketing tasks in Playad. Schedule performance digests, competitor analysis, and campaign prep to run automatically on your timeline.
Trusted by 6,000+ marketers & founders
Playad's Scheduler lets you define marketing tasks once and run them automatically on a recurring or one-time basis. Whether you need a weekly performance summary, a daily digest, or campaign preparation ahead of a seasonal event, you describe the work in plain language, confirm the timing and timezone in Chat, and Scheduler handles execution. Connected ad account data feeds directly into scheduled tasks, so your automations draw from synced campaign performance without manual exports.
What you can do
Recurring task scheduling
Describe a task, set a frequency such as every Monday at 9 AM, pick a timezone, and mark it as repeating. Scheduler saves it and shows the next run time under Your schedule.
One-time scheduled tasks
Schedule a task to run once at a specific date and time without setting a repeat interval, useful for pre-launch reviews or end-of-campaign summaries.
Suggested task templates
Choose from built-in suggestions such as a daily performance digest or competitor analysis instead of writing a task from scratch, then confirm the details in Chat.
Upcoming event planning
Add seasonal or campaign dates in Upcoming Events with a name, date range, and optional country list, then use Prepare to start campaign planning in Chat.
Run history and status tracking
Each scheduled task keeps a Run history log showing execution status and, when available, a link to the resulting chat conversation so you can review outputs.
Connected account data
Ad accounts connected via Connections and synced through daily sync provide the campaign performance data that scheduled tasks can reference during execution.
How it works
1. Connect and sync your ad account
Open Connections for the correct brand, authorize your ad account provider, complete Start Initial Sync with the historical date range you need, then set the Daily Sync Schedule so performance data stays current.
2. Open Scheduler for your brand
Select the brand from the main navigation, then open Scheduler. Confirm the team and brand shown at the top before creating any tasks.
3. Describe the task and timing
In the Your schedule input, type what you want done, when it should run, the timezone, and whether it repeats. For example: 'Every Monday at 9 AM Los Angeles time, summarize last week's campaign performance.' On mobile, this input appears at the bottom of the page.
4. Review and confirm in Chat
Submitting the request opens Chat with your description pre-loaded. Review the task and timing Chat proposes and complete the setup there. Opening Chat alone does not create the schedule.
5. Confirm the saved task in Scheduler
Return to Scheduler and check Your schedule. Verify the task name, enabled state, and next run time appear correctly before relying on it to execute.
6. Manage, pause, or run immediately
Use Edit schedule to update the name, task, timezone, or timing. Use Pause, Resume, or Run Now from the task row. Check Run history if a task did not produce the expected output.

Example request
Every Monday at 9 AM Los Angeles time, summarize last week's campaign performance for all active campaigns and flag any with a significant drop in impressions.
Hypothetical example: weekly campaign digest
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
A marketing manager opens Scheduler for a brand with a connected Meta Ads account. In Your schedule they type: 'Every Friday at 8 AM New York time, summarize this week's campaign performance across all active campaigns.' They submit the request.
Chat opens with the request pre-filled and proposes a recurring Friday 8 AM Eastern task summarizing active campaign performance. The manager reviews the proposed timing, completes setup, returns to Scheduler, and confirms the task row shows 'Enabled' with next run listed as the coming Friday at 8 AM. This is a hypothetical illustration; actual outputs depend on connected data and account activity.
Before you start
Opening a Chat conversation from Scheduler does not by itself create a schedule; setup must be completed in Chat and the saved task confirmed back in Scheduler.
Scheduled tasks pause automatically if the team runs out of credits and resume when credits are replenished; the task status row explains this state.
Data available in scheduled tasks depends on which ad accounts are connected, their sync state, and the date range covered by the initial sync.
Upcoming Events mark dates for planning reference; they do not automatically trigger a scheduled task. A task must be created separately in Your schedule.
Past one-time tasks may no longer appear in the upcoming list; check Run history and the linked conversation for execution details.
Providers, analytics sources, and MMP connections available in Connections depend on your plan and permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Does submitting the scheduling request automatically create the recurring task?
No. Submitting the request opens Chat with the description pre-loaded. You complete the setup in Chat, then return to Scheduler and confirm the task appears in Your schedule with the correct next run time. The schedule is only active once that row is saved and enabled.
What happens to a scheduled task if the team runs out of credits?
The task pauses and its status row in Scheduler explains that it will resume automatically when credits are replenished. If you want it to stay paused after credits return, use the manual pause control on the task row.
How do I make sure my scheduled tasks have up-to-date campaign data?
Connect your ad account in Connections, complete the initial sync, and set up a daily sync schedule. Daily sync keeps performance data current so that scheduled tasks referencing campaign metrics draw from recent figures.
Can I run a scheduled task immediately without waiting for its next scheduled time?
Yes. From the task row in Your schedule, select Run Now. Scheduler requests an immediate execution after you confirm. You can then check Run history to see the result or link to the resulting chat.
What is the difference between Upcoming Events and Your schedule?
Upcoming Events is a planning reference that holds seasonal or campaign dates. Adding an event there does not create an automated task. To automate work around that date, create a separate entry in Your schedule with the appropriate timing.
Can I edit a recurring task after it has been saved?
Yes. Select Edit schedule from the task row to update the name, task description, timezone, or timing, then choose Save Changes. Confirm the updated next run time in Your schedule after saving.
