Playad lets you start with a still image — a product photo, a brand asset, or a reference shot — and generate a video ad from it. Start in Chat by describing what you want, attach the image, and Playad proposes a flow that uses your photo as the opening frame of the video. You can review the plan, adjust the concept, and generate the result without leaving the browser.

What you can do

Image as a starting frame

Your attached photo supplies the opening appearance, composition, and visual state for the generated video. Motion begins from that image; you do not need to re-describe what the subject looks like.

Motion direction from your brief

Describe the subject action, camera behavior, and pace you want. Playad translates those into the video prompt, specifying direction and movement rather than relying on vague descriptors.

Optional ending frame

Where the selected model supports it, you can supply a second image as the ending frame to define where the motion lands. Playad checks that the two frames are geometrically compatible before binding them.

Chat-to-flow review workflow

Chat proposes a flow based on your brief. Open the flow card to review the Flow Preview before generation starts, so you can catch mismatches in concept, size, or framing early.

Audio control

Specify whether the video should be silent or include audio. The plan respects that decision; Playad does not add speech, music, or captions unless you ask for them.

Iterative revision in the same conversation

After reviewing the generated video, describe the change you want — different motion, adjusted pacing, a new frame — and Playad revises the result in the same chat thread.

How it works

1. Open a new Chat

Select your team and brand in the sidebar, then choose New Chat. The team and brand context applies to everything created in that conversation.

2. Describe the video ad and attach the image

Write a specific request: include the product, target audience, placement size, desired motion, and whether you want audio or silence. Attach the product photo or reference image directly in the composer.

3. Review the proposed flow

Chat returns a flow card. Open it to inspect the Flow Preview — check the starting frame assignment, motion description, size, and audio setting before approving or adjusting the plan.

4. Adjust and generate

Ask Chat to change any part of the concept or flow. When the plan looks right, follow the flow's generation controls to produce the video. Proposing a flow is not the same as completing generation.

5. Review the output

Open the result preview to watch the generated video. Check that motion, framing, and audio match your brief. Find the result again in Creations for the same brand.

6. Refine or save

Describe specific changes to revise — for example, different camera movement or a tighter crop on the product. Use Projects to save editable work and continue in Flow Editor on desktop.

Example request

Create a 9:16 vertical video ad for this product using the attached photo as the opening frame. Slowly zoom out to show the full product, keep the background clean, and generate without audio.

Hypothetical example — for illustration only

Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result

Input: A user types 'Create a 9:16 video ad for this skincare serum. Start with the attached product photo, pull the camera slowly back to reveal the full bottle, and keep it silent.' They attach a close-up product shot.

Review: Chat proposes a flow with the product photo set as the starting frame, a slow pull-back motion description, silent audio, and a 9:16 ratio. The user opens the flow card, confirms the framing looks correct, and approves generation.

Before you start

Ending-frame support depends on the specific model selected; not all models accept a second image.

The starting image supplies opening appearance and composition — motion begins from that state, so images that are heavily cropped or low resolution may limit what the generated motion can express.

Text-led generation (no starting image) is available for supported creative reasons but skips the image-as-opening-frame benefit.

Audio options — silent, native dialogue, or a separate track — depend on the selected model's supported controls.

Seamless multi-clip chaining (reusing an ending frame as the next starting frame) requires model support and is planned in the flow, not automatic.

Video editing and downloading continue in Flow Editor on desktop; some actions are not available on mobile.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I attach my product photo?

Attach the image directly in the Chat composer when you write your request. Chat uses it as the starting frame for the video flow it proposes.

Can I control how the video moves?

Yes. Describe the subject action, camera direction, and pace in your Chat message — for example, 'slow pull back' or 'pan left across the product'. Playad uses those details when writing the motion prompt, rather than applying a generic movement.

Does Playad add music or speech automatically?

No. If you specify silence, the video is generated without audio. Speech, music, and captions are only included when you ask for them and when the selected model supports those options.

What if I want the video to end on a specific image?

Supply a second image as the ending frame and describe it in your brief. Playad uses it as the ending frame only if the selected model supports that input. It checks that the two frames are compatible before binding them.

Where do I find the video after it is generated?

The result appears in the original Chat conversation and in Creations for the same brand. If you saved an editable project, open it again from Projects.

Can I revise the video after I see it?

Yes. In the same Chat thread, describe the specific change you want — different motion, a new frame, adjusted pacing — and Playad revises the result. You do not need to start a new conversation.

“We went from 20 hours a week making ads to one, and our ROAS still climbed from 1.5 to 2.34. Playad just does the work better than we did.”
