AI Video Editing in Playad
Use Playad's AI video editor to describe, generate, and revise video ads in Chat, then refine them further in the Flow Editor or Projects.
Trusted by 6,000+ marketers & founders
Playad lets you create and revise video ads by describing what you want in Chat. The assistant proposes a generation flow, which you can review and adjust before any video is produced. When the output exists, you can open it in the editor on desktop to continue refining. The workflow runs from Chat through Flow Editor and Projects — no separate import step is required to get started.
What you can do
Describe your video ad in Chat
Start a new chat and describe the product, audience, message, placement, and size. Chat uses that context to propose a video generation flow you can inspect before committing.
Review the proposed flow before generating
When Chat proposes a flow, open its flow card to see the Flow Preview. You can ask Chat to adjust the concept or flow steps before the video is produced.
Revise generated video with follow-up instructions
After a video is generated, describe the change you want in the same conversation — for example, shorten a scene, swap a headline, or generate three variations — and Chat will revise accordingly, subject to model and input constraints.
Continue editing in Flow Editor and Projects on desktop
Save the work from Chat into Projects. Open the project on desktop to continue editing in the Flow Editor. Projects is only available on desktop.
Reopen editable video projects
Use Projects to reopen any saved video project and continue editing. Use Creations to find generated and exported video files. These are separate locations with different purposes.
Control planning depth with Thinking modes
Use the Thinking control in the Chat composer to match the mode to your task — Quick for straightforward video concepts, Standard or Thorough for more carefully planned ad structures.
How it works
1. Select your team and brand, then open Chat
Choose the correct team and brand from the sidebar, then select New Chat. The assistant works within the context of the selected team and brand.
2. Describe the video ad you want
Write a specific request that includes the product, audience, key message, and placement or size. Attach a product image or reference video when it will help shape the output.
3. Review the flow card before generating
When Chat proposes a flow, open the flow card and check the Flow Preview. Ask Chat to adjust the concept or any flow step before you proceed to generation.
4. Inspect the generated video and revise if needed
Open the result preview in Chat. If changes are needed, describe them in a follow-up message in the same conversation. Review the revised output before using it.
5. Save to Projects and open on desktop
Use the available save action to keep the work in Projects. Open Projects on desktop, then open the project to continue editing in the Flow Editor.
6. Export and find the output in Creations
When the video is ready, export from the editor. Find the exported file in Creations under the same brand. Creations holds generated and exported media files.
Using Playad: product screens
Example request
Create a 20-second landscape video ad for our skincare product, targeting adults aged 25–40, focusing on the daily moisturizer with a limited-time offer. Use the attached product image.
Hypothetical example: product launch video ad
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
Input: A user selects their brand, opens a new chat, and types: 'Create a 15-second vertical video ad for our new running shoe, targeting first-time buyers, highlighting free shipping. Use the attached product photo.'
Review: Chat proposes a flow. The user opens the flow card, reviews the Flow Preview showing the proposed scenes and message structure, then asks Chat to shorten the opening scene. After confirming the revised flow, generation proceeds and the user inspects the video output in the chat preview before saving it to Projects.
Before you start
Video editing and revision are supported subject to model and input constraints; unlimited editing is not guaranteed.
Projects and the Flow Editor are only available on desktop; mobile users can view results but must continue editing on a computer.
Generating a flow is not the same as completing video generation; the user must follow the flow's review and generation controls.
A downloaded or imported file does not automatically have an editable project; Open in editor is only available when an associated project exists.
Check that the correct team and brand are selected before requesting a revision or looking for its output.
Spending-related permissions and action approvals depend on account limits and the approval mode set in the composer.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I start to create a video ad in Playad?
Start in Chat. Select your team and brand, choose New Chat, and describe the video ad you want. Chat and the Flow Editor are the default creation workflow for new video ads.
Can I revise a generated video after it is produced?
Yes. In the same Chat conversation, describe the change you want — for example, adjusting a headline or generating additional variations. Revisions are supported subject to model and input constraints.
Where do I find my generated video files?
Generated and exported video files appear in Creations for the same brand. Projects holds the editable source. These are separate locations; check both if you are looking for either the editable project or the final file.
Can I edit video projects on mobile?
Projects and the Flow Editor are only available on desktop. On mobile, Chat can explain how to continue editing on a computer, but you cannot open or edit a video project from a mobile device.
What is the difference between a flow and a completed video?
A flow is the generation pipeline Chat proposes. Creating or reviewing a flow is not the same as completing video generation. You need to follow the flow's review and generation controls to produce the actual video output.
How do I control how much planning the assistant does for my video request?
Use the Thinking control in the Chat composer. Quick works for straightforward video concepts. Standard or Thorough are better suited for more carefully planned ad structures. Changing the Thinking mode is separate from the action-approval setting.
