AI Product Photography: Create New Shots from Your Product Photo
Turn one real product photo into polished studio or lifestyle compositions. Describe the shot, upload your image, and review results in Chat or Flow.
Trusted by 6,000+ marketers & founders
Use AI product photography to explore new studio-style or lifestyle compositions from a real product image. Start in Playad Chat, attach a usable photo and describe the shot: setting, lighting, framing and the product details that must remain accurate. Review the proposed Flow, then inspect the generated image against the original before downloading it. This workflow is useful when a merchant needs a new scene for an existing product rather than a completely new ad concept. Ask for a clean photograph with no added headline when that is the deliverable you need.
What you can do
Reference-led composition from a real product photo
Use the uploaded product photo as the visual reference for a new composition. Identify the exact variant, packaging, color and label that belong in the shot. The reference grounds the request in your real product; inspect the result for altered details rather than assuming every generated feature matches the original.
Shot brief control over lighting and setting
Describe the lighting condition you want — soft window light, hard directional light, overcast outdoor light — and the setting: a kitchen counter, a marble surface, a linen background. You can specify what should not appear in the frame. The more concrete your brief, the closer the output stays to your intent. Vague briefs produce more interpretive results.
Perspective and composition direction
Specify the camera angle and framing in your brief: eye-level table shot, slight overhead, three-quarter view, tight crop or full-bottle with negative space. The system treats these as strong guidance, not locked geometry. Verify the angle in the result before using it; the output is a generated image, not a mathematically exact render.
Choose a clean photo or an image with ad copy
State whether the deliverable is a product photograph without added text or an ad image with a headline. For a clean shot, explicitly request no extra text, logos or decorative badges. If you also need an advertisement, give the exact approved copy as a separate requirement. Check the destination’s image requirements before using either version.
Iterative revision through the same Flow
After reviewing a result, ask Chat to revise specific elements: change the prop on the left, reduce the background clutter, shift to warmer light. Revisions are connected to the same source image and flow so the change history stays visible. You can request multiple concepts with different settings and compare them in Creations.
How it works
1. Open Chat and select your brand
Select the correct team and brand, then choose New Chat from the sidebar. This sets the brand context for the request and the destination for generated media.
2. Upload your product photo and write a shot brief
Attach the product photo in the Chat composer. Then type a specific brief: the product name, what must stay recognizable (shape, color, label), the lighting you want, the setting, any props or surfaces, and what should be absent from the frame. Example: 'Create a lifestyle product photo using my uploaded bottle image. Keep its shape, color and label. Use soft window light and a simple kitchen setting; no added text.' You can include a target size or ratio if you have one.
3. Review the proposed Flow before generation runs
Open the proposed Flow card and review the source image, requested composition and output settings. Ask Chat to correct a wrong reference or missing requirement before continuing. Review any permission or generation controls shown by the current Flow. A plan or preview is not a completed photograph; inspect the returned image after generation finishes.
4. Inspect the generated result
When generation completes, examine the image against your brief. Check that the product shape and label are sufficiently recognizable, the light matches your direction, the scene has the clutter level you intended, and the perspective reads correctly. If the output has a material problem — the label is illegible, the product shape is significantly distorted, or the setting is wrong — describe the specific issue in Chat and request a revision.
5. Request revisions or additional concepts
Tell Chat exactly what to change and what to keep. For example: 'Keep the kitchen setting and lighting, but remove the second object on the right and tighten the crop to the bottle only.' Revisions are applied through an edit node that references your accepted source, so your original is preserved. You can also ask for a second concept with a different setting in the same project.
6. Save and download from Creations
Find completed media in Creations for the selected brand, preview it and download the chosen file. Keep an associated Flow in Projects for later revisions. If the image is hard to find, check the selected brand and clear any restrictive filters. Request additional dimensions from the accepted source only after its product details pass review.
Using Playad: product screens
Example request
Create a lifestyle product photo using my uploaded bottle image. Keep its shape, color and label. Use soft window light and a simple kitchen setting; no added text.
Hypothetical example: a skincare serum bottle
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
Input: A merchant selling a glass serum bottle uploads a straight-on studio photo with a plain white background. Their brief asks for a lifestyle composition: the bottle on a light oak bathroom shelf, soft morning window light from the left, a small folded white towel as a prop, no other objects, no text, 1:1 square output. The merchant wants the gold label text to remain legible.
Flow review: Chat proposes a Flow with the uploaded photo as the source and a generation node reflecting the brief. The merchant opens the Flow card, confirms the prompt mentions the gold label, the oak shelf, and the window-left light direction, then approves the run.
Result review: The merchant checks whether the bottle silhouette reads as a glass serum bottle, whether the label area has enough contrast against the shelf to remain legible, and whether the light direction matches 'morning window from the left.' If the label text is blurred or the bottle looks generically round rather than distinctly tapered, that is flagged as a material issue and a revision is requested before downloading.
This example is hypothetical and illustrates the review criteria a merchant would apply. It does not represent a completed generation or a guaranteed outcome.
Before you start
Product geometry, lettering and surface finish can drift in generated images. Compare the output with the actual item, especially on complex packaging, before using it.
An unusable reference cannot reliably establish your product identity. Supply a clearer photo when the label, silhouette or key material is obscured.
The image is generated, not a photograph taken during a physical studio shoot. Check the destination’s requirements and make sure the presentation accurately represents the item you sell.
Projects and the Flow editor are available on desktop. Use Creations to find the media output and Projects for its associated editable work.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a useful source photo?
Use a clear image of the exact product variant, with its outline and important packaging details visible. Add another authentic reference if a crucial feature is hidden. In the brief, distinguish the real item from changeable scene elements such as the surface, props and lighting.
Can I generate a product photo with no text or ad copy at all?
Yes. Explicitly ask for a product photograph with no added headline, offer or CTA. Inspect the result for stray text as well as product accuracy. If you also want an ad version, request the approved wording separately so the clean photo and the advertising composition have clear purposes.
How do I get consistent results across multiple shots of the same product?
Use the same source image and maintain consistent brief language for lighting, surface, and scene elements across requests. Opening a result in Projects lets you apply revisions through the same Flow, which keeps the source and change history together. Exact consistency is not guaranteed across separate generation runs, so review each output individually.
Where do I find the finished image after generation?
Look in Creations for the selected team and brand, open the preview and download the chosen file. Clear restrictive filters if needed. Use Projects to reopen associated editable work when it exists; a media file and an editable project are different items.
