An AI caption generator for video should help viewers read what is being said. In Playad, speech subtitles are a finishing step in the video workflow and are separate from advertising text designed into the scene. Start in Chat with the video or the video brief, say that you need subtitles for the spoken audio, and describe how they should appear. Review the generated captioned output against the actual speech before downloading it. This guide focuses on readable speech captions, not social-post captions or automatically translated scripts.
What you can do
Keep subtitles tied to speech
Ask for captions that transcribe the actual spoken content. A headline such as “Meet your next refill” may be advertising copy even when nobody says it; it belongs in the creative plan separately. Keeping these roles distinct avoids adding a claim to the subtitles or losing a planned on-screen message during finishing.
Describe the reading experience
Tell Chat the intended placement, output size and preferred caption treatment. The current workflow provides caption processing; review the available style and timing settings in the proposed work. Ask for legible contrast and sensible line breaks, then inspect the rendered result rather than assuming any preset suits every background.
Caption the accepted sequence
Finish the scene and speech decisions before treating captions as final. If the spoken line changes or clips are reordered, the captions need another check. A transcript that was correct for an earlier take can become wrong for the revised film even when the product visuals appear similar.
Review text and timing together
Play the actual output and compare each subtitle with the audible words. Check product names, spelling, punctuation and where text enters and leaves. A caption that remains visible too long can overlap a cut or obscure an important product detail. Inspect at normal viewing size as well as a larger preview.
How it works
1. Identify the source and requested result
Open Chat for the correct brand and attach or clearly identify the selected video. Ask for speech subtitles and say whether the underlying film and audio should stay as supplied. For a new video request, include the subtitle preference in the initial brief so finishing is planned with the other requirements.
2. Set language and presentation direction
Name the spoken language and any required brand spellings. Describe a readable treatment for the intended placement. A request to transcribe speech is different from a request to translate it; do not silently combine them. Confirm what the current caption workflow supports before relying on a particular output format.
3. Review the proposed finishing work
Check that caption processing follows the relevant completed video and speech, rather than an obsolete version. Follow the current Flow review and run controls. A plan that includes captions is not evidence that the captioned file already exists; wait for returned media.
4. Watch and read the complete output
Listen while checking the words on screen. Inspect the beginning, every scene change and the ending, not only a sample frame. Correct a misspelled brand name or a subtitle that covers the key action. Keep a list of the affected words and moments for a specific revision request.
5. Recheck after any revision
When words, audio or clip order change, inspect the resulting captions again. Open the completed file in Creations for the selected brand and download the reviewed version. Keep an associated Flow in Projects on desktop. Confirm that your final destination accepts the chosen media dimensions.
Using Playad: product screens
Example request
Add speech subtitles to this reviewed video. Transcribe the actual spoken words, keep our product spelling, and use a readable treatment that does not obscure the demonstration. Keep ad headlines separate from the subtitles.
Worked example: captions for a short bottle demonstration
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
Input: A hypothetical brand has a reviewed product video whose spoken line is “Open, refill, and keep it close.” It requests subtitles that follow those words and preserve the original product demonstration.
Brief: Supply the exact product spelling and ask for a readable caption treatment with enough contrast over the desk scene. Do not add a discount or a second advertising headline to the transcript.
Review: Listen to the entire output while reading the subtitles. Check that “refill” appears during the matching speech, that the last words do not run past the ending and that text does not hide the opening action.
Revision: If speech changes to “Open, refill, and start your day,” request captions for that actual revised take. This example is a checklist, not a claim that a captioned video was generated here.
Before you start
Speech subtitles are different from visible advertising copy and from the text accompanying a social post.
Review actual words and timing. Do not assume a caption option guarantees an error-free transcript or a particular export type.
A script, prepared speech take or still image cannot establish that captions match the final video audio.
Frequently asked questions
Will subtitles add the ad headline automatically?
They should transcribe speech. If you also want a headline, benefit or CTA visible in the scene, specify that separately in the creative plan and review it as advertising copy.
Can I change the spoken line after captions are added?
Yes, but the captioned result needs another review against the revised audio and timing. Identify the changed line and the intended source version in Chat.
Does this include translation or subtitle-file exports?
This guide covers speech captions in the video workflow. If you need another language or a separate subtitle file, ask about that exact deliverable and confirm current support before proceeding.
