AI Image Editing for Ad Creatives
Edit ad images with AI in Playad. Swap logos, adjust copy, localize layouts, and create size variants inside a tracked Flow project on desktop.
Trusted by 6,000+ marketers & founders
Playad's AI image editor lets you refine existing ad images without starting over. Working inside a Flow project on desktop, you connect a source image to an edit node, describe the change you need, and generate a revised version while keeping the original intact. Whether you are correcting visible copy, swapping a logo, adapting a layout for a new market, or producing size variants from a hero image, every step stays visible and reversible in the Flow graph.
What you can do
Precision edits on existing images
Connect an edit node to a saved or uploaded source image inside a Flow. Describe what changes and what stays fixed—product shape, brand colors, composition—and generate a revised version. The AI selects the right model automatically for layout-preserving edits, so your original node is never overwritten.
Logo and asset replacement
Supply or confirm your brand logo through your brand assets, then apply it to an existing image via an edit node. The editor preserves the surrounding composition while placing the verified logo in the designated space. If logo ownership cannot be confirmed, the space is left clear rather than filled with an uncertain asset.
Visible copy correction
Change a headline, product callout, or any text baked into an image by describing the updated wording in an edit node. Even a text-only change works through the source-to-edit connection, so the original image is preserved and the update is tracked in the Flow graph.
Localization of ad layouts
Edit a hero image to translate all visible copy into a target language while keeping the layout, product, and brand elements intact. Each language produces a separate deliverable that appears in Creations.
Size variant generation
After your hero image passes review, connect it to resize nodes inside the same Flow to produce additional placements at different ratios or pixel dimensions. Essential copy, logo, and product are preserved across the variants.
UGC and authentic asset editing
Keep authentic product packaging, UI screenshots, or game art as fixed reference inputs while editing surrounding elements such as background, framing, or presenter context. The original asset's identity anchors—shape, packaging, characters—are preserved while other elements are updated.
How it works
1. Open Projects on desktop
Select your team and brand, then open Projects. Projects is only available on desktop. Choose an existing Flow project or create a new one to open the Flow editor, where your image source and edit nodes live as a visible graph.
2. Set up your source image
Add the image you want to edit as a source node in the Flow—either a file you upload or a saved image already in the project. If you are updating an image from an existing Flow, locate its output node in the graph and use that as your starting point. The source node is never modified by editing.
3. Add an edit node and describe your change
Connect an edit node to the source image. In the node settings, describe precisely what should change and what must stay the same—for example, 'update the headline to read X; keep the logo, background, and product image exactly as they are.' The more specific your description, the more accurately the edit is applied.
4. Save and run the Flow
Save the Flow, review the planned outputs and any displayed cost, then run it. Wait for the result before continuing work that depends on the edited image.
5. Review the output
Inspect the returned image against your brief and brand assets. Check spelling and legibility, logo placement, product shape and overall composition. If something needs fixing, describe the correction and review the revised result before use.
6. Find your finished image in Creations
Once the image passes review, the output is available in Creations—separate from the editable Flow project in Projects. Creations holds the resulting media files. If an output has an associated project, its preview may offer an option to reopen the editor. Each language version and each size is a separate item in Creations.
Using Playad: product screens
Example request
I have a saved product banner in my Flow. Can you update the visible headline to 'New Summer Collection' and keep everything else—the logo, background, and product image—exactly as it is?
Hypothetical: correcting headline copy on a Meta banner
Illustrative example — not a product screenshot or customer result
Input: A saved 1200×628 Meta banner image in a Flow project. The visible headline reads 'Save Big This Season' but the approved brief calls for 'Up to 30% Off Selected Styles'. The brand logo is already verified and correct.
Edit node: The user adds an edit node connected to the existing image node and describes the new headline text, specifying that the logo, product image, and background must remain unchanged.
Run and review: The Flow runs and returns a revised image. The updated headline is legible, correctly spelled, and positioned within the safe zone. The logo and product remain unaltered.
Delivery: The approved output appears in Creations with the Meta ad copy attached—headline within the 40-character limit, body within 220 characters—ready for use.
Before you start
Projects and the Flow editor are only available on desktop; mobile access is not supported.
Automatic strip-banner adaptation above a 3:1 ratio is unreliable; Playad will explain this limitation when that format is requested.
Automatic revisions still need visual review. Check brand details, spelling and output dimensions before using the edited image.
Logo placement requires a verified brand asset; if ownership of a logo cannot be confirmed, it is omitted rather than used with uncertainty.
Edits preserve the original source node; the edit node applies only the described change, so unrelated parts of the image depend on the source being accurate before editing begins.
Each language and size is a separate output in Creations. Confirm the wording and dimensions of every version before using it.
Frequently asked questions
Will editing an image overwrite my original?
No. Your source image is kept as its own node in the Flow and is not modified. The edit node produces a new output connected to that source, so both versions remain visible in the graph.
Can I edit an image I uploaded rather than one generated inside Playad?
Yes. Add the uploaded file as a source node in a new or existing Flow, then connect an edit node to it. The workflow is the same as for an image that was generated inside Playad.
How do I produce multiple ad sizes from one edited image?
After your hero image passes review, connect it to resize nodes inside the same Flow. Set the ratio or pixel dimensions for each placement. Essential copy, logo, and product are preserved across the size variants.
Where do finished edited images appear?
Outputs appear in Creations, which is separate from Projects. Projects holds the editable Flow; Creations holds the resulting media files. If an output has an associated project, its preview may offer an option to reopen the editor.
Can I localize an ad image into multiple languages in one Flow?
Each target language is a separate edit node and a separate item in Creations. You can add multiple edit nodes to the same Flow—one per language—each translating visible copy while preserving the layout, product, and brand elements of the shared source.
What happens if my logo is not recognized or verified?
If ownership of a logo asset cannot be confirmed, it is omitted from the output rather than applied with uncertainty. You can supply or confirm the correct logo through your brand assets and then rerun the edit.
